"Trust the process, we don't all bloom at the same time"
Our program is designed to equip horses with the essential skills for success while guiding them towards optimal physical development. We prioritize building posture, strength, and fitness in a manner that sets a solid foundation for the rest of their ridden life.
Ideal for horses of any discipline, we teach the basics and provide gentle exposure in a way that best prepares them for life ahead.
SPECIALIZING IN:
We limit our intake to 4 to 5 horses per month to ensure each receives the attention and time they deserve during their daily training sessions. Understanding that each horse is unique, we approach training as an individualized journey, respecting their responses and needs within their new environment.
The basics we work towards with each horse are forward, soft, supple, & willing. We encourage curiosity in all of our horses and exposing them without making them dull, and sensitive without being afraid. Our training regimen involves regular exposure to different environments, with horses typically trailered to various locations for arena work and trail rides. This exposure ensures a versatile and adaptable mount, crucial for real-life situations.
Payment and Communication:
We require a $500 non-refundable deposit to secure your horse's training spot, with preferred payment methods including Cash, Venmo, or Check. Training fees are due monthly, with the first 30 days paid in full upon delivery. (Contact me for monthly training fees.)
We keep owners updated through platforms like Snapchat and Facebook, sharing pictures and videos of their horse's progress during their stay.
Feeding and Accommodation:
Owners are responsible for providing feed and any specialized hay their horse requires. Otherwise, we offer grass hay available 24/7. Horses are accommodated in stalls with attached runs for mental stability, with pasture turnout when weather permits.
During summer months, bring your horses fly spray, fly boots, fly mask, and fly sheet (if you have one) to keep your horse as comfortable as possible.
Additional Notes:
At Weiss Attuned Horsemanship, we prioritize the well-being and individual needs of each horse, ensuring a supportive and effective training environment.
We cannot & will not train on a horse that's in pain.
When your horse is afraid, in trouble, overwhelmed, their natural inclination is to protect themselves, and unfortunately, that often means against us, or without us.
If you have worked to develop connection, and given concrete REASONS for your horse to trust you by providing for them time and time again, they will look to you for HELP when they are in trouble or afraid.
No amount of desensitizing can create that. No amount of bribing or just having good intentions will create that. Only a human who shows up day in and day out as the same, trustworthy person who looks out for their horse as a friend and partner, not a tool, and not some romanticized vision of what a horse is, can create that kind of trust.
